Do you need to know your ring size? There are different ways to determine the correct ring size:
- Measure the diameter of a well-fitting ring you already own
- Measure the circumference of your finger with a flexible measuring tape or a piece of paper/string and a ruler
- Use a ring size meter
If you're using the first method, simply measure the diameter of the inside of your ring to determine your ring size. For example, size 18 corresponds with a diameter of 18 mm.
If you're using the second method, use the following ring size converter chart to determine your ring size based on the circumference of your finger:
When measuring your ring size, keep in mind these tips:
- Don't measure your fingers when they're cold, as they may be smaller
- Avoid measuring your finger on a very hot day
- If you have large knuckles, choose a larger size
- Measure your fingers at the end of the day, as they may be slightly larger then
- Note that the ring size may be different for each hand
- If the ring has a stone, measure the size as accurately as possible to prevent it from turning
If you're buying a ring as a gift and don't know the person's ring size, consider these options:
- Ask the person's friends or family if they know the ring size
- Borrow one of the person's rings (on the correct finger) and measure it using one of the above methods
- Choose a ring that is adjustable in size
